Ana Belén Moreno is an expert in public policy and sustainable urban development. Currently, she is president of OnCities2030 and director of the Urban Journalism Institute, as well as advisor on post-COVID-19 gender policies for the Huairou Commission and collaborator of the UNESCO Chair on Gender and Equality Policies in Science, Technology and Innovation at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Between 2020 and 2023, she has carried out collaborations in the elaboration of strategies for the internationalization of cities, as well as in localization of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

She has worked since 2011 at the United Nations, leading the process of elaboration of the New Urban Agenda as general coordinator of the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) in 2016. She is a specialist in the definition and implementation of strategic plans, intergovernmental processes and collaborative platforms, as well as in the impact and legacy of major events in cities. She has also been coordinator of several editions of the World Urban Forum (Naples 2012, Medellin 2014 and Kuala Lumpur 2018) and UN-Habitat representative for Brunei-Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in 2019.

She has held various positions of responsibility in the Barcelona City Council, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Government of Spain, as well as project manager at the United Nations Mission in Kosovo.

She holds a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Journalism, both from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has lived in Barcelona, Madrid, Pristina, Nairobi, New York and Bangkok, and has worked on projects in cities such as Sydney, Naples, Medellin, Quito, Kuala Lumpur, Surabaya and Abu Dhabi, among others.
