The National Commission that promotes Expo 2027 Málaga meets again

The meeting was immediately after an event during which the Foreign Affairs and Industry ministers, the mayor of Málaga, the Regional Government’s county delegate and the president of an Andalucían entrepreneurs association participated showing their support for the project

The National Commission for Málaga's candidature to host the 2027 World Expo held another meeting today in Málaga at the local government’s headquarters. This commission, which promotes Málaga’s candidature to host Expo 2027 Málaga, “The Urban Era: towards the Sustainable City” consists of the Spanish Government, Málaga City Council, the Andalucían Regional Government and Málaga County Council.
 
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares (also commission Chair); the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, Málaga province’s delegate in the Andalucían Regional Government, Carmen Casero and the County Council president, Francisco Salado. This meeting discussed the candidature’s next milestones, among which are presenting the candidature at the BIE’s 170th General Assembly on 20 June and the enquiry mission that will visit Spain (Málaga and Madrid) in September to get to know the city and the project first hand.
 
Following the Expo 2027 Málaga National Commission meeting, the mayor, Francisco de la Torre, participated in the event “Expo 2027 Málaga: an opportunity for Spain”, held at the Automobile Museum and organised by Club Diálogos para la Democracia (Conversations for Democracy). The event was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, and was closed by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto. Málaga County Council’s delegate, Carmen Casero and the Chair of the Andalucían Confederation of Entrepreneurs (CEA), Javier González de Lara were also present.
